About

Organic. Sustainable. Educational.

Join the Community.

In 2018, we hope you will join us as we continue our mission of providing the best quality home-grown vegetables, fruit, and plants, as well as unique, hand-crafted items to our community. Today, Historic Sotterley further strengthens our strong ties to the Southern Maryland farm community and continue our over 300 year farming tradition as we open up the Sotterley Farmer’s Market – a producer only farmer’s market – every Saturday from May 27 through November 1. After buying wonderful local produce, we hope our guests will also stay in order to take advantage of our site’s beauty, nature trails, and history. Visitors need only to check in at the Visitor Center, then they can enjoy themselves hiking and touring the site – and remember that Sotterley members get in free! Leashed dogs are welcome on our nature trails.

See for Yourself.

Sotterley's trained docents can provide Specialty Tours by advance arrangement. Groups can choose a unique tour that fits their interest from our many offerings. Make the trip extra special by combining a specialty tour with our 1703 Plantation House Guided Tour!

Community Classes

In 2018, we have invited a number of Community Leaders to teach hands-on classes. Whether they are teaching about personal fitness, nutrition, nature or everyday science, these masters of their trade will be sharing their personal experiences every Saturday. Stay tuned for our 2018 schedule!
