Father's Day Weekend

Celebrate Father's Day with Sotterley! This weekend we have a number of father-friendly activities just for you and dad! 

Stihl Leaf Blower Raffle: Any dad who stops by our Visitor Center between 1 pm on Friday and 3 pm on Sunday will receive a free raffle ticket with a chance to win a Stihl Leaf Blower valued at $200, donated by Milt's Sales & Service in Mechanicsville.
Half-Price House Tours for Dad: Hike our trails, tour the 1703 Plantation House, stroll the garden and more! Remember, dads' tours are half-price, starting at 1 pm on Friday and running until 3 o'clock on Sunday!

Farm Fridays, 1 - 4 pm: Visit 3 stations and learn about nature, farm and food ways at Historic Sotterley. Regular Admission fees apply.
Friday Farmer's Market, 4 - 7 pm: Get first dibs on our produce and some local artisan wares before the crowd on Saturday!
Half-Price Plantation House Tours for Dads: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 pm. 

Saturday Farmer's Market, 8 am - 1 pm: Indoor and outdoor market spaces, fresh certified organic produce, Pick-Your-Own produce fields, artisan vendors and more!
Half-Price Plantation House Tours for Dads: 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 1, 2, and 3 pm.

Half-Price House Tours for Dad, 12 - 4 pm: Hike our trails, tour the 1703 Plantation House, stroll the garden and more!

Garden Guild Plant Sale:
Saturday, April 29, 2017, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm
Sunday, April 30, 2017, Noon to 3:00 pm
Sponsored by the Sotterley Garden Guild. Because of their dedication to this National Historic Landmark, these nurturing volunteers have not only raised thousands of dollars in support of Historic Sotterley Plantation, but they are also responsible for the maintenance of the exquisite Colonial Revival Garden. Their passion for beauty is evident in the smallest of details, so take the opportunity to appreciate their horticultural artistry!

Community Plant Exchange:
Saturday, April 29, 2017, 10:00 am until the plants run out! Sotterley is proud to host this Community Plant Exchange! Bring one of your own plants to exchange for other annuals, perennials, herbs, vegetables, shrubs, trees, bulbs and seeds!

Homeschool Day

Homeschool Day

Visit 4 stations throughout the day and learn about life at Sotterley during the Civil War. Students learn to appreciate what the life of an enslaved family was like who lived and labored at Sotterley Plantation during the Civil War Era by participating in hands-on activities at our original slave quarter and outbuildings.
